Seven thematic sections
Everything is ready for the debate of the two candidates for mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis and Haris Doukas, which will be held today, Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 9:15 p.mat the Radio Tower of Agia Paraskevi.
The debate will be broadcast by ertnews.gr and ERT1, while there will also be interpretation in Greek sign language.
The telefight will last an hour and a half. Giorgos Kouvaras will coordinate, while the questions to the two candidate mayors will be addressed by the coordinator, the head of political reporting of ertnews.gr, Lida Bola, and the journalist of ERT, Makis Provatas.
The conditions for holding the debate were decided in a meeting held by the staffs of the two candidates with the executives of the information sector of ERT.
The sections to which the two candidates will be asked to answer are the following:
1. Operation of the city
2. Security
3. Climate change/resilience
4. Infrastructure/Development
5. Social policy
6. Culture
7. Free module
Journalists will submit 14 questions, each lasting up to 30 minutes. The duration of each answer will be up to two minutes. Every journalist will have the right to submit a supplementary question (follow up).
Questions (up to three) can be submitted by both candidates to each other. Also, Kostas Bakoyiannis and Haris Doukas will have the right to make up to five interventions, one and a half minutes each, whenever they choose.
At the end of the telefight, the two candidates will have the possibility of an overall placement, lasting up to two minutes.
