“Greek hospitality comes from the soul of tourism professionals, it is not taught in a lesson”
Greek hospitality comes from the soul of tourism professionals, it is not taught in a lesson, the vice-president of the Hotel Chamber of Greece, Christina Tetradis, tells APE-MPE and underlines that Greece is doing exceptionally well on this front since it has many repeat customers.
Christina Tetradis, President and CEO of the Zante Hospitality Group in Zakynthos, notes that her group’s client portfolio has customers who have been visiting the same for over 35 years hotel, indicative of the relationship that hotel businesses build with their customers. In fact, he emphasizes that this is a comparative advantage of Greece that should not be lost. It is characteristic that repeat customers know the employees by their first names, exchange gifts and generally create a small community, which stems from the Greek DNA of hospitality.
The provision of high-level service by hotel workers is not an easy task. It is being built year after year, according to Mrs. Tetradis. She herself, as she says, takes care of the training of the staff, takes an interest in the staff, exchanges gifts, wishes, etc. and in general has built relationships with the employees and this is reflected in the provision of hospitality to foreign visitors. Despite the staff shortages observed in the hotel industry, Greek hotels hold high the flag of Greek hospitality, as the key positions in the hotels are filled by experienced staff, explains the vice-president of XEE.
