A small amount of narcotics was found and confiscated in their homes
Two Greeks were arrested in Chaniaaccused of explosion, damage to foreign property and for relevant drug and weapons law offences. The arrest is related to the case explosion of an improvised device in a police car yesterday at dawn in the Nea Chora area of Chania.
As announced by the General Police Directorate of the Region of Crete, “the methodical and thorough investigation and utilization of data by police officers of the Security Sub-Directorate of Chania resulted in the immediate investigation of the explosion case and the arrest of two national defendants for explosion resulting in common danger to foreign things and persons, damage to foreign property, and for relevant drug and weapons law offences.
In particular, it took place explosion in the basement of a two-story house in the area of the Municipality of Chania, during which extensive material damage was caused to an ICHE car and two two-wheeled motorcycles owned by three citizens”.
As the police announcement states, it emerged from the preliminary investigation of the above agency the use of a private car by the perpetrators.
The vehicle, which had license plates that had been reported stolen, was spotted by police officers of the Traffic Department of the Northern Road Axis of Crete yesterday afternoon, driven by a local and stopped. Afterwards, he was spotted by police officers of the Chania Security Sub-Directorate another citizen related to the case.
Searches followed at the homes of the two nationals, during which a small amount of narcotics was found and seized in total2 mobile phones, a knife and a bullet from a firearm”.
According to the APE – MPE, those arrested with the case filed against them they will be taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Chania.
The preliminary investigation continues by the Security Directorate of Chania.
