They hid them in three apartments and a vehicle
Two arrests were made yesterday as part of an operation by the Anti-Smuggling and Trafficking in Persons and Goods Sub-Directorate of the Organized Crime Directorate, during which 172 ancient objects were found in three houses in Brine.
According to ELAS, an appropriate utilization of information was preceded in cooperation with police officers of the Alimos Police Department, from whose further analysis, it was possible to locate the three apartments, in the same apartment building.
In particular, in physical searches, as well as from searches carried out in the three apartments and in a vehicle, 172 were found and confiscated. ancient objects, which, after being shown to the competent Ephorate of Antiquities, were found to fall under the legislation for the protection of antiquities, while eight of them need further investigation, it was noted in APE BEPE.
As the ELAS announcement states, indicatively, goblets, phials, lekyths, clay figurines and effigies, spouts, miniature skyphos from the archaic and classical/Hellenistic period, clay lamps from Roman/Byzantine times, copper and silver coins, as well as ceramic fragments were confiscated.
Those arrested, with the case filed against them for violations of the legislation for the protection of antiquities and cultural heritage in general, were taken to the competent prosecution authority.
