“And just as he was telling me these things, he faints. I call the medics, they come in, bring him in, and then he just kept talking to me.”
About his relationship with him Charles Kuhn, his battle with depression, but also the reason he refused to play Spyros in The Unacceptable, Stratos Tzorgzoglou spoke on the show “Pame Danae”.
“My teacher was Charles Kuhn. Shortly before he passed away, he called me at the hospital and told me that I was strangely honest and spontaneous. And just as he was telling me these things, he faints. I call the doctors, they come in, they brought him in and then he kept talking to me. The last time I saw him he started telling me that I would say the word “mother” as Michalis in “The Sound of the Gun”, said initially Stratos Tzorgzoglou.
Stratos Tzorgzoglou then said: “When I made the decision to become an actor, my family supported me in a special way. They heard I was going to the basement of the Art Theater and thought I was on drugs. They called the police and my father threatened to have a fight with this Kun.”
At the same time, he revealed: “I refused to audition for the role of Spyros in The Unacceptable, because it was a comedy and I said I’m not good at comedy.”
About his battle with depression, Stratos Tzorgzoglou said: “I didn’t want to talk to the world, I felt a mourning inside me that I hadn’t expressed. Maybe my mother’s death affected me and I decided to take a break to rediscover myself, to really see my fears. In the Savage Land I was depressed and I made a lot of effort to be consistent in the role.”
Closing, the actor said: “The most extreme display of admiration was when fans broke the windows to get some posters of me doing Dorian Grey. During the performance while I was waiting for the applause I heard laughter because a cat walked by. In the same performance, a grandmother also passed by the stage to go to the bathroom.”
