Stormy northerlies across the country
Local rains will be its main feature weather for today, Thursday 17/10. Northeast winds with intensities of up to 7 Beaufort will blow in the Aegean, while the drop in temperature will be noticeable.
In more detail, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, few clouds are expected throughout the country. Clouds will quickly increase in the central, eastern and northern continents, giving light local rains, mainly in Central and Eastern Sterea, in Thessaly and in Western and Central Macedonia.
OR temperature it will range in Western Macedonia from 3 to 18 degrees, in the rest of northern Greece from 7 to 19-21, in Thessaly from 9 to 21-22, in Epirus from 11 to 26 degrees, in the western and southern continents from 12 to 26-27 , in the rest of the eastern continental parts from 12 to 22-25 degrees, in the Eptan Islands from 15 to 26 degrees and in the Aegean islands in Crete from 13 to 22-23 degrees, while in the Dodecanese the maximums will locally reach 27-28 degrees Celsius .
In the Aegean, north northeast winds will blow with intensities of 5-6 Beaufort and locally in the south 7 Beaufort. Winds from eastern directions with intensities of 3-4 Beaufort will blow in the Ionian.
In Attica we expect temporarily increased clouds with a small chance of a few light rains. Winds will blow from northeast directions with intensities of 4-5 Beaufort and possibly in the east up to 6 Beaufort. The temperature will range from 18 to 22-23 degrees.
At Thessaloniki expect clouds with an increased chance of a few light rains. The winds will blow east southeast with intensities of 2-4 Beaufort. The temperature will range from 15 to 19-20 degrees.
MACEDONIA, THRACE
- Weather: Local clouds which will be increased in Macedonia. Weak local rains will occur in central and western Macedonia.
- Winds: From east directions 3 to 5 and in the east local 6 Beaufort.
- Temperature: From 10 to 20 degrees Celsius. In western Macedonia the minimum will be 3 to 4 degrees lower.
IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIROS, WEST STEREA, WEST PELOPONNISOS
- Weather: Scattered clouds at times denser with light local rain from midday mainly in the south.
- Winds: Southeast 3 to 5 Beaufort.
- Temperature: From 13 to 26 and locally in the western Peloponnese up to 27 degrees Celsius. In the interior of Epirus it will be 3 to 4 degrees lower.
EASTERN STEREA, EVIA, EASTERN PELOPONNISOS
- Weather: Clouds at times increased with light local rains.
- Winds: North Northeast 5 to 7 Beaufort.
- Temperature: From 13 to 23 and locally in the eastern Peloponnese up to 25 degrees Celsius.
CYCLADES, CRETE
- Weather: In the Cyclades, sparse clouds that will thicken from the afternoon. In Crete, local clouds with temporary rain until noon in the southwest.
- Winds: From northern addresses 6 to 8 Beaufort.
- Temperature: From 18 to 24 and locally in southern Crete up to 26 degrees Celsius.
EAST AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANISE
- Weather: Scattered clouds.
- Winds: From northern addresses 5 to 7 and in the central and southern local 8 Beaufort.
- Temperature: In the islands of the eastern Aegean from 16 to 23 degrees and in the Dodecanese from 18 to 26 and locally up to 27 degrees Celsius.
THESSALY
- Weather: Clouds at times increased with light local rains.
- Winds: East Northeast 3 to 4 and in the Sporades 4 to 5 Beaufort.
- Temperature: From 11 to 21 degrees Celsius.

- Weather: Clouds at times increased.

- Weather: Clouds at times increased.

The forecast for tomorrow, Friday 10/18
In western and central Macedonia, Thessaly, Sporades, eastern Sterea and Evia, clouds temporarily increased with light local rains in western Macedonia and northern Thessaly. In the west a few clouds temporarily increased with local rains in the early morning hours mainly in the marine parts of the southern Ionian. In the rest of the island country, generally clear weather with a few local clouds in Crete.
Winds will blow in the west east southeast 3 to 5 Beaufort and in the South Ionian locally 6 Beaufort. In the east they will blow from north directions 4 to 6 and in the Aegean locally 7, temporarily in the south until noon to 8 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop and reach 18 to 20 degrees in the northern mainland and the islands of the northeastern Aegean, in the rest of the mainland, the Ionian Islands, the Dodecanese and Crete 23 to 25 and locally in the south 26 and in the rest their island country 21 to 22 degrees Celsius.
The weather on Saturday 19/10
In the Ionian and continental regions (except eastern Macedonia and Thrace) increased clouds. In the rest of the country initially generally open air. From noon on Crete, the Cyclades and the Dodecanese will develop thin clouds that will gradually thicken.

Gradually and from the north almost clear weather.
Winds will blow in the west east southeast 4 to 6, in the south Ionian 7 to 8 Beaufort with gradual weakening from noon. In the east, winds will blow from north directions 4 to 6 and in the Aegean locally 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will not change appreciably.
The weather on Monday 21/10
In the eastern parts of Thessaly, Sporades, Evia, eastern Sterea, eastern Peloponnese and Crete increased clouds with light local rain until midday in Evia, Sporades and south-west Crete and gradual improvement from the north.
In the rest of the country generally clear weather.
Winds will blow in the west from easterly directions 3 to 5 and in the southern Ionian 6, locally 7 Beaufort with fast weakening. In the east, winds will blow from north directions 4 to 6 and in the Aegean locally 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will rise slightly.
